A Concise Contrastive Grammar of English for Danish Students

A Concise Contrastive Grammar of English is a pedagogical introduction to English grammar. The reader is guided through the labyrinth of the English grammatical landscape and is introduced to English grammar as well as to basic sentence analysis. The book gives a systematic description of English and covers all the major areas of English grammar. It contains definitions and explanations as well as a large number of examples from a wide range of material (newspapers, magazines, literature, spoken language, etc.).

Special attention has been paid to areas that are known to cause problems for Danes who are learning English at a fairly advanced level. Wherever relevant, parallels have been drawn to Danish grammar and the most important differences between Danish and English have been highlighted

The present third edition has been revised in a number of places, and misprints have been corrected, but the second and the third editions can still be used in parallel.
